(email update sent from team conducting 2-week trip to Ghanzi and Maun)
Things are going well so far. The Ghanzi training had 17 people. This was smaller than expected but we enjoyed good training times and nice sports programmes. It was also awesome to connect with Window of Hope and True Love Waits and get to know them better. We’ve had a great time of sharing and prayer with both groups and have built some quality relationships.
The camp in Mabutsane with Glow went well too – she loved having us there and we left an AWANA set with her for future programmes. Glow was well excited with the gift. We said we’d lend here the set for 6 months, see what’s happening on a regular basis and if things are set up and run weekly we’ll leave it with her. She sounds like she’s already setting things in motion for a Saturday morning programme.
The team is doing well. Victor had to attend to family matters just as we arrived in Ghanzi so Shepherd and Oliver have had to step into his shoes a bit and take on some more responsibility in facilitating sessions. Both of them have done very well. Eddie has been fantastic – full of life, fun, energy and really keeping the delegates pumped up when things start to lag. He has also been great in the sit down sessions.
We’re all getting on well although community living (being around each other 24/7) can be trying. Anyways, that’s it from me for now – will send some more feedback from
Maun if i can get online : )
