Botswana Cricket Association

May 26, 2008

In 2008 we have seen a growing interest in the game of Cricket in Botswana. Although we use sports as a platform to invest in children’s mental, social, emotional and spiritual capacities it is important that we teach proper sport specific skills. Our programmes thus become an extension to grass root development initiatives by National Sports Codes in Botswana.

In recent months our partnership with the Botswana Cricket Association has been a link we are most proud of. Girish Ramakrishna (BCA Development Officer) won the NON-CITIZEN SPORTS DEVELOPMENT AWARD for 2008 in connection with the Saturday morning Cricket programme we assist with every Saturday morning at the Cricket Oval.

We look forward to extending our partnership in the near future as a new Cricket programme has started in G-West at the National Youth Centre on Saturdays.

King’s Foundation Botswana Newsletter

May 23, 2008

Well…it is an improvement on last year but still it has taken longer than planned to produce our most recent newsletter. We may soon need to up our page count as it is becoming increasingly difficult to fit all of our activities on to two pages! Well done Darius & Farai for creating this “problem”.
