Due to the success of the community outreaches we found the need to develop a more in-depth program that will enhance the children’s leadership skills and help us turn them into peer coaches, educators and leaders. The Rookie leadership program help us use sports as a vehicle to transform children into the leaders that our country needs for the next generation. We target children who are between the ages of 11 to 17 years and put them through the program that King’s Foundation has developed. Through this program we will help the children identify and address specific needs in their respective communities and help them develop personally and as community members in a way that will lead to a better tomorrow.
As children take part in King’s Foundation program they develop on various levels. In addition to the obvious physical, mental and spiritual levels children are kept out of trouble, develop a sense of belonging, learn how to work together in teams and they develop personal self esteem. Francistown as a whole benefits from such program targeting the youth because they bring various people together and build a sense of community.
